Bio

Yaser B. is an award-winning Saudi filmmaker known for his compelling storytelling and bold creative vision. Backed by scholarships from the Saudi Film Commission, he refined his craft at the USC School of Cinematic Arts and the British Film Institute (BFI).

His feature film Junoon, co-directed with his brother Maan, received international acclaim and is currently streaming on Netflix. He also directed a short film that won the prestigious Wai regional award.

Yaser’s commercial and government work includes high profile campaigns for Riyadh Season, several of which won Gold awards, as well as major clients like Al Rajhi Bank, Roshn, GEA, DZRT, and more.

He was selected as one of only eight writers in the Red Sea SeriesLab, an exclusive 7-month program where he developed a dark comedy crime series under the guidance of top international showrunners and industry mentors. He’s also currently developing a feature screenplay through the year-long Red Sea Lodge.

Most notably, Yaser was selected for the Red Sea Directors Program, where he was mentored by the legendary Spike Lee, including one-on-one sessions and group masterclasses that helped sharpen his directorial voice.
